We offer a TESOL Diploma program that conforms to TESL Canada standards and Language Canada’s Quality Assurance guidelines. Trainees will be able to explore teaching, learning and language through task-based, participatory and interactive practice.
Program Duration
5 weeks (100 instructional hours, plus a 20-hour practicum)
Program Schedule*
Monday to Friday, 9:00AM – 2:00 PM + practicum When a statutory holiday occurs, class hours will be made up on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Practicum
Trainees become classroom-ready by teaching international students, alongside their TESL Canada approved host teacher, in a DEA College classroom during their Practicum week using the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the TESOL Diploma Program.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the DEA TESOL program, prospective students must meet specific requirements regarding age, prior education, English level, and demonstrated proficiency in the basic skills required for college-level work.
- Letter of intent: Submission of a letter of intent outlining your goals for taking the TESOL program
- Interview: Successful interview with the TESOL Program Manager
- Educational qualification: Undergraduate degree
- Non-native speakers: TOEFL iBT Score 101 (minimum of 27 in speaking/writing, 23 in listening, 24 in reading) OR IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with a minimum score of 7.0 in each skill area
