Program Description
The Foundations Community Support Worker Certificate provides students with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to support individuals and families in community and social service settings. This intensive program covers key areas such as effective communication, cultural competence, ethics and professional practice, mental health awareness, personal care assistance, and health and safety practices. Students will also complete First Aid and WHMIS certifications.
Graduates of this program will be prepared to work in entry-level support roles within community organizations, group homes, seniors’ residences, and other social service agencies, where they will contribute to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for those they serve.
Program Requirements
A Canadian Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through with prior education in English at grade 10 level or higher or through an English language assessment (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent).
Note: Students may be required to provide additional information/ documentation. For example, a copy of government issued identification; acknowledgement of student handbook/ policies
