HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT COURSE IN VANCOUVER

Get the job-ready training and hands-on experience you need to enter the fast-paced and rewarding tourism and hospitality industry. In the Hospitality Management with Co-op diploma program, you’ll gain the skill and knowledge to work in hotels or food services.
Taught by industry-experienced instructors, the program covers computer systems, front office and housekeeping management, food and beverage operations, sales and marketing, and more. In addition, a paid 580-hour co-op placement will give you the opportunity to solidify your new skills in an immersive, real-world industry setting.
Once you graduate from the program, you’ll also be certified in BC Food Safe, and receive an American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Diploma.
This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.

This program is 72 weeks in length.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the organization of the hospitality industry.
  • Apply the basics of hospitality sales and management. 
  • Communicate effectively and use written, oral, and non-verbal communication skills to deal with customers and other stakeholders in the industry.
  • Apply catering, restaurant, and event management skills.
  • Evaluate the impact of sustainable business practices on the hospitality industry.
  • Apply the principles of effective human resource management.
  • Describe the role of ethics and law in the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills.
  • Work in a team-based hospitality work environment offering quality-based customer service.
  • Conceptualize and apply models of marketing, housekeeping, and food and beverage management.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of costprofit ratios in operational areas.
  • Describe how hospitality businesses use technology for its everyday operations.

Admission Requirements

At least 19 years of age Evidence of IELTS 5.5 is required; the following equivalent tests are accepted instead of IELTS 5.5 (ie TOEFL IBT, TOEIC, CELPIP, Duolingo, Eiken, Cambridge, CEFR, and PTE.)

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this program will be prepared for a variety hospitality / tourism positions in a broad range of settings: for example, hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants, casinos convention centres and cruise ships, tourism services and so forth.
