DEA CANADIAN COLLEGE – COVID-19 INFORMATION
Health and Safety:
The DEA College ensures the health and safety of all staff, students and community by following the official guidelines set out by the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia; local health and safety authorities.
The COVID-19 safety and response plans developed by the institution are intended to provide a comprehensive safety plan and support the return of international students. The intent is to mitigate risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The plans apply to domestic and international students; faculty and staff; community and the public; and external contractors.
The institution has a Health and Safety Committee, consisting of the Director, the on-site administrator and a faculty representative. They meet once a week and more often if required. The institution plans will be updated as additional information is available and as regional and provincial measures are amended.
Questions, concerns or suggestions should be directed to the Health and Safety Committee – phone or email the College. The committee chair (contact person) is Ms. Yalda Ahmadvand, Director.
No part of the plans is subcontracted to full fill the requirements.
New travel requirements for Canada
The Government of Canada has announced new travel requirements around its new COVID-19 protocols for international travellers.
Starting February 22, 2021, before departing for Canada, all air travellers will have to reserve a room at a Government of Canada-approved hotel for three nights.
You can find more information about the mandatory stopover hotel stay and a list of the approved hotels on the Government of Canada website.
Additionally, all travellers arriving by air should provide a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test, and must take two COVID-19 molecular tests — one on arrival at the airport and another at-home test kit on day 10 of their quarantine period.
Travellers who test negative will be able to continue to their planned place of quarantine. Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be relocated to a designated quarantine facility or another suitable place of quarantine.
Travellers are also required to check-in the day after arriving in Canada and to report symptoms daily, either by phone or through the ArriveCAN app.
All flights into Canada now must land at one of four airports – Vancouver International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport or Calgary International Airport.
Visit the Canadian Government website for more information about boarding flights to and within Canada and travel restrictions in Canada.
